Programme Manager Avalanche

   
 

This is a significant role with the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council, reporting to the Education Manager. Your input and expertise will help us ensure we fulfil our mission of enabling people to enjoy the outdoors safely.

You will be responsible for:
• Driving the MSC Avalanche programme
• Education of the general public
• Industry education and support
• Info-ex programme and associated activity
• Media liaison and response
• Providing support to the Snow and Avalanche Committee (SAC) and facilitating the Avalanche Education Working Group (AEWG)

Experience and expertise in managing a national programme, including:
• Avalanche expertise and qualifications (at least the level of Avalanche Stage 2)
• Outdoor safety management
• NZ Qualifications Framework and Educational processes (Training, Assessment,
Qualifications)
• Project Management

Personal skills:
• Excellent communications, ability to work well with others
• Write and speak clearly and effectively
• Ability to negotiate and influence

This is a full time position over the eight months of the winter period.

Snow Safety Services Manager

   
 

Stratford Mountain Club, Manganui Ski Area, Mount Taranaki, North Island, New Zealand
Position: Snow Safety Services Manager

The Stratford Mountain Club is seeking applications for the position of Snow Safety Services Manager on the Manganui Ski Area on Mount Taranaki in the North Island of New Zealand for Season 2010.

You are required to a fully qualified Avalanche Level Two (2) to oversee our Snow Safety Services Program as part of our Ski Area Safety Plan (SASP).

The position is on a salary basis of four (4) months from 1 June to 30 September 2010.
