Register are now open
– register today by clicking on this link

The conference theme this year is CONNECT...the dots.

This conference has opportunities for you to CONNECT policy and practice, politics and programmes – and also you and your colleagues.

In keeping with our Wellington location, the conference programme includes national politicians and policy makers, captures the latest from researchers and thought leaders, and showcases creative ways of connecting the dots and creating synergies between partner agencies that work within our communities. Professionals from political, environmental, social, cultural and economic spheres will highlight the often invisible connections with recreation.

CONNECT will contribute to your professional practice and link you personally with others in the sector. The conference combines a two-day
business programme followed by one day of (optional) workshops and field trips.

CONNECT is future focused, equipping you as leaders in the recreation sector. Topics included in the programme are:

•The value of recreation and its contribution to genuine progress in our communities
•Future trends in service delivery in open spaces, libraries and fitness, programmes and services
•The role of recreation and social development
•Tourism and its contribution to recreation
•Changing environments – conservation, open space, climate change
•Reinventing the wheel – the future of cycling
